Ferritmagneter – også kaldet keramiske magneter – fremstilles ved at blande pulveriseret jernoxid med barium eller stronium. De presses så til den form man måtte ønske sig. Magneterne har mange anvendelser, fra ganske almindelige tavlemagneter til værktøj, dørholdere, motorer, magnet transportører eller højtalere.
Magneterne er meget modstandsdygtige overfor korrosion.
Bemærk at holdekraften er målt uden luftspalte, dvs. ved fuld kontakt mellem magnet og materiale. Hvis luftspalten øges, formindskes holdekraften.
